= Présentation =
During the 20th century, the United States was the only country that had the ambition to reconfigure global politics, an objective that even the USSR did not pursue on the same scale. The aim of this course will be to decipher the evolution of its place in the world from the mid-19th century to the present day. The aim is not only to trace the evolution of the foreign policy of a country that has become a superpower over the decades, but also to analyse how this policy plays a structuring role in the evolution of international relations and the global system, and finally what are the interactions between foreign policy and the internal history of the United States, particularly through the analysis of the multiple actors involved in its development of a multipolar and protected diplomacy.
